Ananda Cottages

Located just outside Ubud (the spiritual center of Bali), The Ananda Cottages provides an elegant balance of secluded peace, convenient accessibility and authenticity.
Just wandering through resort you feel immersed in a lush tropical forest.
The peaceful yoga studios are nestled amongst the beautifully terraced rice fields, immune from road noise.
There is a restaurant on site and numerous other places to eat within easy walking distance.
The town of Ubud is about a 15-20 minute walk, but a very quick and affordable taxi ride ($3).
I looked at a handful of retreat centers in June and Ananda was the clear winner.
Ananda was also the location of the retreat I attended, so I can attest to the resort’s helpful staff, cleanliness and local charm.

All the rooms are equipped with air conditioners, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. I did not always use my mosquito net (because it wasn’t necessary). However, it was nice to know it was there when/if needed.

The “Superior” rooms are usually on the upper (2nd) floor, slightly larger and have better views/locations. I was more than happy sharing a “Standard” room with a roommate. We had a nice veranda overlooking a wall of trees not far from the pool. The upgrade cost is not prohibitive so you may decide you want to indulge.

Room assignments will be determined firstly on functionality (i.e., twin share or double beds), then upon the date your deposit was received.

More important than learning how to recall things is finding ways to forget things that are cluttering the mind.
