Yoga On The River 2012

FIFTH ANNUAL EEL RIVER YOGA RETREAT

Memorial Day Weekend (Fri 5/25 – Tues 5/29)

What will be the highlight of your Spring?

Embrace the Peace and Beauty of the Eel River.

Immerse yourself in Yoga, Nature and Healthy Food.

Let silent mornings and Giant Redwoods calm your mind and awaken your soul.

Deepen your Yoga Practice, Make New Friends, Slow Down & Chill Out.

The Krishnalaya Ashram is located on the banks of the Eel River 200 miles north of San Francisco (an easy and pretty drive up highway 101) http://krishnalaya.chinmayamission.org. We have the whole ashram to ourselves.

It wouldn’t be the fifth annual Yoga On the River if Krishnalaya was not a GREAT place for a retreat.

Think spirit, not spa. There’s nothing to buy, just let yourself BE.

$450 / person includes:

– 4 nights lodging (double occupancy)

– Lovingly prepared vegetarian meals (ALL meals included)

– Guided breathing (Pranayama) and meditation each morning

– 8 yoga sessions (AM vinyasa flow, fun variety in the afternoon)

– Optional silent meditation sessions

– Evening discussions, chanting & more!

If this seems surprisingly affordable, IT IS!

Yoga should be accessible, not exclusive.

Hosted by Keith Erickson with very special guest instructor Safah Roberts (imported from Canada).

The yoga practices are accessible to all levels and challenging to all levels

Space is abundant, but attendance will be limited. “Double Occupancy” does NOT mean you have to register with someone else. It means you will be sharing a room, but most rooms are configured with a bathroom between the two beds. No one will feel crowded! You don’t have to bring a friend you will make plenty. Ride sharing will be available from the Bay Area.

REGISTER HERE NOW If you would like us to hold space(s), please, click above link or go to “Contact” tab and write “Count Me/Us In?” in the message box. Please don’t forget to include your e-mail address. You will receive a confirmation e-mail and your space will be held for 10 days. Receipt of $150 deposit (per person) and completed registation form(s) will save your space(s) until the full payment is due on Friday May 18th.

Payments can be made in cash or via checks payable to Keith Erickson. Or pay by credit card:

Prices Include PayPal Fees

Schedule: Mornings will be in silence and will include pranayama (breathing exercises), a vinyasa flow asana practice and meditation (in potentially varying orders). There is free time in the middle of the day (for hiking, swimming, chilling or whatever comes up). The afternoon yoga sessions can be anything we want them to be (contact yoga, yin yoga, break-out workshops on inversions, balancing, arm balances…). Mix in some random chanting, drumming, and evening discussions (not to mention some excellent vegitarian meals) and we have had great luck in creating some pretty memorable and meaningful experiences.

Additional Information:

Most cell phones do NOT work at the ashram (this is a GOOD thing on retreat). There is a phone available to make and receive calls if necessary.

Alcohol and meat are NOT allowed at the Krishnalaya Ashram.

It wouldn’t be Yoga on The River without Cathy Gregory‘s cooking magic in the  Kitchen. All participants will have the chance to assist with Kitchen Karma Yoga. That is your opportunity to share in the delighting of your fellow yogis with amazing vegetarian food (or take a less active role and help with dishes). More a celebration than a chore, the kitchen is the social hub of the retreat. Meals are a collaborative and creative feasts.

Please note the schedule begins with an afternoon practice on Friday and ends with a morning practice on Tuesday. To maximize the experience (and minimize traffic), attendees are recommended to take Friday and Tuesday off (Monday is a holiday). Each year, there are cases where people arrive later and leave earlier. It is all OK.

You will be asked to bring your own yoga mat, strap and block. A complete packing list will be sent and car pools will be arranged (for those interested) as we get closer to the retreat.

We have worked hard to keep the cost of this retreat reasonable. Yoga should be accessible to everyone. If financial restraints are preventing you from attending, please contact me about the possibility of camping at the retreat.
