Random Acts of Outdoor Yoga

Random Acts of Outdoor Yoga is returning THIS SUNDAY (Sept 8th) to the beautiful Gazebo on the water at Leo Ryan Memorial Park in Foster City (on East Hillsdale Blvd roughly at Portal Lane). The closest parking will be on East Hillsdale Blvd. MAP
As we will be literally “on the water” there can be a cool breeze in the shaded gazebo, so think layers. There are bathrooms as this location.
Our practice will begin at 9:30 AM with 30 minutes of pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation followed by an asana practice (approximately 60 minutes).

Random Acts of Outdoor Yoga, (as the name suggests) happen randomly (when I want to practice on my day off). The location changes to accommodate my yoga friends from all areas of the Peninsula. The sessions are similar to my regular classes with three distinct differences: (1) They are OUTDOORS; (2) The first 30 minutes are dedicated to pranayama (breathing exercises) and meditation; and (3) I do NOT get off my mat to correct/adjust (instead I just talk through the session and practice with you).

There is no charge to participate, but DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Everyone is welcome (but from experience dogs and kids don’t usually thrive at these sessions)

I am always looking for suggested locations. Ideal locations are peaceful and inspiring with large flat surfaces offering both sun and shade (shade being the more important). Bathrooms, public parking and beauty are all encouraged.

Please bring your own mat. Wearing layers is usually a good idea. You might also want to consider bringing drinking water and an extra ground cover layer (or two?) to go under your mat (and enlarge your “clean surface” area).

Outdoor yoga sessions are usually announced via e-mail (and appear on my schedule) some time during the preceeding week.
